Republic of India

India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country and the world's most populous democracy. Bounded on the south by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea to the west and the Bay of Bengal to the east, India has a coastline of 7,517 km. The country is bordered by Pakistan to the west, the People's Republic of China, Nepal and Bhutan in the north and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. The island countries of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are located very close to India.
